Hi I’m JC Gibbs La Cocinerita (The Little Lady Cook) and on this blog I’m sharing my food experience in the US, mostly in DC Metro Area, where I live, for now.

My obsession with food, (to make it sound prettier “my love for food”),  started in the little, hot, humid and crazy Panama, mostly from my Mom’s daily dishes, her mom’s Tamales and Corn Tortillas, (very different from a Taco Tortilla), my Dad’s love for tropical fruits and his Mom’s cakes and big dinners for over 20 people.

You’ll get to see everything I can find about food, from my weekly grocery shopping list, to my Restaurant Reviews, my quest for a perfect empanada and tamal, plus my crazy cravings for Churros and decent Chinese food.
